When your mouth and stomach do not perform their jobs fully, partially digested food enters the small intestine as perfect fodder for "bad microbes" to thrive and feast on. Such feasting creates gas, bloating and additional toxins that inflames the intestinal lining and increases the work load for your liver.
Inflammation in the gut prevents secretion of enzymes that break down food and mucus that protects the gut lining. It also inhibits absorption of certain nutrients and allows partially digested particles to enter your bloodstream, stimulating the immune system to be on high alert.
