I know how frustrating it is to have long-term digestive problems! For example:

- The humiliation of having to grill your host about ingredients so you won't get sick
- The anxiety that prevents you from enjoying food because maybe it wasn't prepared carefully or you were given incorrect information.

There are thousands of books and website extolling the benefits of "X" diet. I have watched such aggressive approaches to diet, lifestyle, and cleansing FAIL because for most people they are too difficult to implement or sustain inside of a busy, stressful life!

I have developed a gentle, practical approach - one that provides for both exploration and integration of new foods and habits while identifying and transforming the negative patterns that interfere with healing.
Why do I work this way? Because real change can only be accomplished - and maintained – when we can do it one small step at a time!

How Do I Work?
As a holistic nutritionist - one who values and cares about your body, mind and spirit - I want to know your whole story: your current symptoms, what you like to eat (or can't eat!), your habits, your medical and family history, what is happening in your life, your struggles, your goals, even your birth story!
With this information, I can often discern why and when your symptoms started; the nutrient or organ imbalances in your body; current harmful foods or habits; and the emotional/mental patterns interfering with your body's natural ability to heal and be vibrant.
Your health and wellness plan includes specific recommendations for addressing your digestive and health concerns, and takes into account your dietary preferences, life circumstances and time/energy constraints. I encourage use of natural and local foods as much as possible, and I may recommend supplements and complementary therapies.
Be assured that I will be here to help you every step of the way. Our sessions follow a plan but are easily adapted to any changes you need to make. You will receive handouts, recipes and meal plans to guide you at home. You can email me with quick questions at any time. I can also teach you meditative exercises for relaxing and learning more about what is happening inside your body. This helps you to develop your "inner knowing" or "gut feeling" - a very useful guide!

Work With Me
While everyone is different, for most folks, 1-3 sessions are needed to develop your health care plan and another 2-8 sessions to do the work. The number of sessions required depends on the severity of your symptoms, and how committed you are to doing the work. I can usually assess the number of sessions you will need at our first meeting.
